Well, I know my drives to Oklahoma are only about 21 hours and I can guarantee that's a longer distance. Moving could very likely have had a huge impact on that time though.

Not really. Rochester is a considerable spike north in the trip, whereas NYC is a pretty straight highway route. Also, there is no easy way to get to Rochester from the city. 390 winds so awkwardly.
