The soundtrack to Repo: The Genetic Opera. I can't decide if I like this movie, or album. It's half awesome, and half really cheesy and terrible.

I'm not sure I would have been able to get through that movie were it not for the presence of Anthony Stewart Head

(I am listening to Musick to Play In the Dark, and wishing I had a decent pair of headphones)

"Mahna, Mahna" - CAKE

Great cover. I love the stupid-sounding synth parts, CAKE is seriously the only band in the universe who could get away with that shit.

Their "I will survive" cover knocked Devo's "Satisfaction" off of my personal 'covers' throne. I really love that band.

Yeah, Dopethrone is well.... dope.

My personal choice will always be Esoteric - The Maniacal Vale though.

Right now I'm listening to Lacrimosa - Crucifixio

From the End The DJ EP "Fire On The Horizon", the Angels On Acid version. It's AWESOME! The original version by Souless Affection is good too.

Strawberry Jam. So sue me. I love this effing album.

Also, Snakland and Gargamelodies by Bügsküll. Great, ludicrous lo-fi experimentalism, like some kind of hybrid developed from the distilled essences of The Dead C, The Residents, and The Olivia Tremor Control.

Oh, and some Psychic TV here and there; specifically, the Splinter Test box sets, which I found on some blog or another. It's mostly soundtracks to short films and whatnot. Damnably hard-to-find for even the most exorbitant prices... Which is a shame, because the material is better than most of their available stuff.

Am I a pretentious git? I feel like one.

Just for the record, most of the posts here are for individual tracks, because there's more room for in-depth discussion that way. Otherwise it just feels like info overload!

"Car" - Built To Spill

God what a fucking great album. Doug Martsch has weird diction when he sings and he doesn't particularly give a fuck about tone, and yeah he looks like a lumberjack and stuff, but man his shit's pretty damn awesome.

"San Francisco" by Alkaline Trio.  Haven't listened to Goddamnit in ages, but having gotten back from a practice with my new band where we busted out "Jaked on Green Beers," I've been inspired to revisit the trio's earlier stuff...

That's a great album. One of those punk albums without a single bad track. I'm listening to something completely different right now.

Anthony Hamilton - Comin' From Where I'm From

I'm usually not that into soul but I love this album. It's realllllllly good.
