There was a month last year where I had "Stem/Long Stem" stuck in my head. A solid month.

Can't get enough of Nick Drake today. Even though he only put out a few records, compared to the other folk greats, every one of them is flawless.

This song from Thurston Moore's new solo album. It's not bad. Really airy and soft. Relaxing.

Beautiful stuff. I have to admit I don't know many of their songs but I like them every time they pop up on my radio. One of these days I need to sit down and really listen to an album.

Examination of What Digable Planets

Man, I have not thought of them in ages.  That is an awesome album.

I am currently listening to Coil's The Ape of Naples. I have recently been listening to Elastica's self-titled album, Zs' New Slaves and Arms, Pan Sonic's Gravitoni, Flying Lotus' Cosmogramma, KMFDM's Attak and James Plotkin & Mick Harris' Collapse.

The first Sly & the Family Stone album from 19 and 67.(A Whole New Thing)
some of it here: http://8tracks.com/doombilly/dalbergia-melanoxylon
Was reading the wiki on Sly and the story really is just sad.
Quote
During the early 1970s, the band switched to a grittier funk sound, which was as influential on the music industry as their earlier work.[4] The band began to fall apart during this period because of drug abuse and ego clashes; consequently, the fortunes and reliability of the band deteriorated, leading to its dissolution in 1975.

I'm at the pizza hut (what) I'm at the taco bell (what) I'm at THE COMBINATION PIZZA HUT AND TACO BELL

On the drive from my university to Chicago there is a restaurant that my roommates and I call the "Triple Threat" and has a Taco Bell, a Pizza Hut, and a Kentucky Fried Chicken all cozily tucked inside one eating establishment.

Edit: Oh wow. I did not see this post 16 days ago when it was originally made. I made an oopsie.

I was really into Manchester Orchestra for a while... But something about Mean Everything To Nothing kind of bummed me out.  I listened to it a lot when it first came out, then I realized that none of the songs really made any sense.  I'll still probably check out the new album, but I didn't really like that song.  Oh well, I guess I'm just burned out on them.

Passing the Ace - Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats

This is getting me into jazz in a very good way. Weirdly 3 of the guys in this band were backing for Glen Hughes and formed the Meatbats. Had their first album and it was magical, I love the improv jazz/funk genre really.

Had this song on heavy rotation since the leak of their latest. Cutesy, cheesy music just like I like it.

Yeah. He's just a throwback to great old-school rap, fantastic lyrics, has a world-class DJ, actually plays guitar once in a while, puts on a fun live show, and to top it off, from the few minutes I got to talk to him, he seems like a super nice and down-to-earth guy.

The first four Ramones albums in order cause I haven't listened to them in a while. They still sound great but I like to imagine how amazing they would be if their producers knew what do with 'em.

Actually on second thought Rocket to Russia is perfect, why couldn't all their records be like this

Yeah, they up and changed their name randomly, and then signed to Red Scare.

If you google/mf search, you should find their two albums under 10-4 Eleanor. Good stuff.
