Squad-Level strategy games

Tactics is quite good I thought. If you're looking for Fallout humor I would say it's meh, but it's a lot better than a lot of Fallout fans gave it credit for.

My god, that LP for 7.62mm was funny. The system seems like it would be a fun one as well, is that system similar to jagged alliance, or do they use a turn based thing for it?

You guys ever played Shadow Watch? It was a noble failure in every sense of the phrase; it was scuttled by its interface and some questionable game design, but the concept and presentation (well, aside from the shoddy voice acting) is so solid that it still itches around in my brain and makes me wish someone more competent would take a crack at a spiritual successor of sorts. Basically, think comic book style presentation featuring a 5 man squad of NPCs who each have different abilities that dovetail neatly with easily identified archetypes. You had the shotgun toting tank, the martial arts/stealth specialist, the helpless gadget guy, the hot-headed demo man, the always-professional sniper, and the leader, a well-rounded character with an array of morale and initiative boosting abilities. Of course, in keeping with the "Good Lord, is this game ever a tease," pattern, the characterization ended up being paper thin once you got past the art design and dossiers.
It still burns me up though; check out these screenshots. This game could have been such a killer old-school game rather than just mediocre. Damn it all.
PizzaSHARK:
Baldur's Gate II with the right mods can be similar to a tactical strategy game. Otherwise, I prefer tactical shooters (like the SWAT and Rainbow Six series) to tactical strategy games.

I just remembered a really good western shoot out game where you essentially had two choices: stealth or shootout. It was a squad game, kind of, you started out with two characters to control and then you got more until you had five or so. It was real time, so to kill people effectively with more people at once you set up sequences for when to shoot who. I cannot remember the name of this game, but I really want to play it. Anyone?
