Vote, VOTE, VOOOOOOOTE!!!!
Inlander:
HEY AMERICA!
CHEERS!!
KickThatBathProf:
Oh I will definitely drink to that
axerton:
I just watched Obama's acceptance speech. It was a truly great speech, when he was talking about the woman who was voting at 106, and asking what his daughters might see if they lived to be that age, I'll be darned if it didn't strip away every bit of cynicism I have, and leave me actually looking forward to seeing what the future holds. Also when the crowd spontaneously started chanting "Yes we can!" a shiver ran down my spine. But I think my favorite moment was "This victory alone was not the change we seek - it is only the opportunity to make that change"
I tell a lie, what I was most impressed with was something he didn't say. Not once in those 15 minutes did he mention 9/11 and for that reason, as well as many others I applaud the President elect, and look forward eagerly to what he will do once in office. In my mind the 19th of January can not come soon enough.
Hey, there's a point, has Bush made an official statement yet, not that I expect it to be anything other than the usual generic congratulations bullshit.
Peet:
You guys are just so gosh darn enthusiastic about politics. In a couple of years (?) when the British elections happen we will all just be like "yea cool Gordon won well done Gordon don't fuck up too bad huh?".
Barmymoo:
Peet I am also British and by God if I didn't stay up all night to watch the election it wasn't for want of trying. I have never been so super anxious about the opinions of people four thousand miles away.
Thank you all you American people, you have made the world a better place by proving that there is still a point in elections. Man they were big queues.
