tania:
yeah i did the same thing with my housemates, we stayed up until almost 1am watching the election then sort of turned to each other and went "man, it's too bad canadians don't get this enthusiastic about their own elections huh?" we had one of the lowest voter turnouts ever in october and nobody really cared or was surprised that harper won again cos it's not like there were any better options.

Seductivpancakes:
Yay for America. I'm going to the bar tonight.

This.

Also, the bar I went to screamed when he won. It was deafening. Too bad the people I went with were rather apathetic about this election. (I was the only one who actually liked one of the candidates. At least they voted the same way as me...)

RedLion:
My campus was full of people running around shouting and screaming...people were chanting "Obama" and, believe it or not, "U.S.A." Probably the first time I've seen any of these people, who are all extremely jaded and cynical and critical of America, showing some kind of pride in their country. And the same goes for me, frankly. A large group of people started spontaneously saying the Pledge of Allegiance.

supersheep:
I have been singing the two or three lines of America the Beautiful I actually know to myself all day. Who knows why.

Dear America,

Good job.

Love Odi
