That's cool Shaniac. A lot of the Secret Santas are doing that this year. It's not lame.

I am being sincere, but I'm just pointing out that I don't think it's lame because a few people have PMed me to ask me if it is lame.

We're all broke and the economy sucks. It's not lame.

The thing I sent my person was also purchase off the internet. But it is being sent from me so it is okay. My gift was also effected by crap exchange rates and high shipping costs.

I'm going to the post office tonight to have a panic about posting deadlines (holy crap it's almost Christmas) but if all goes well my secret santa recipient will be receiving their rather pathetic gift soon. I'm adding my name to the list of people being affected by the lack of money (but to be honest, it's more to do with lack of inspiration than anything else. There is nothing to buy round here.)(Maybe a sheep.)

I got a shipping confirmation from the site today. It either shipped UPS, USPS, or FedEx.

They also gave me a tracking number that doesn't work on either of the three sites. What a pain in the fucking ass.

On one hand, things did not go as planned today and our Secret Santa gift must wait till tomorrow to ship. On the other hand, I have a picture of the Gift me and Kat got!

A calender (which we needed anyways. Fantastic!) that was part of a aboriginal fundraiser for the 2010 Winter Olympics. It has a different symbol for each month and it rocks. Also the bumper sticker for the tattoo shop, which after looking up Dave Shore's work, I approve.

I got my Secret Santa present today! It was from Stephen and Kat. They got me these awesome vinyl record bowls! (did you guys make them? they are so rad.) They also got me a cute little record player plushie/ornament.

Just as a warning though, If you put candies in them, either put a paper towel or something as a liner or make sure they're wrapped. Vinyl is apparently bad for you or something. Silly food safety.

I'm a liar. The gift was sent out yesterday afternoon, but there is no note because I forgot to put it in before I wrapped it all up in tape. So.

Actually it wasn't that bad. Only spent 30 minutes in line.
The good news is that it didn't cost as much as I feared and there's the distinct possibility that it will not be late.

Guys, I think I have said this a few times in Gabbly but I am SO HAPPY to see that everyone has taken Secret Santas so seriously this time around. Every time someone posts about the rad thing their person got, I just get really happy. It's like Christmas!

That said, if you haven't sent out your gift, you need to do it NOW. You are already late. Don't forget, I'm posting the list of who should have sent to whom on December 29, and if your person hasn't received it by then, it will ruin the surprise!

Got ice cubes that light up and a little reindeer dude and cufflinks made of LEGOS (SOOO Awesome) and MOCHA HAZELNUT TIMTAMS OH YEAH

Everything was wrapped in newspaper which has the title "Market wrap" which is awesome, all shares prices and stuff (November 27 - bad for industrials, good for mining and oils methinks) and the card was also made with this and yellow ribbons and stuff. Now pics!
