What you see there is a bag of homemade butterscotch cookies (soooo butterscotchy!), a bag of homemade (yes, homemade) oreo cookies, a North Dakota snowglobe*, and a book with a great story in it and about it!
You can also see the very nice letter that made me both laugh out loud and go d'aawwwwwwww! Also seen is the best wrapping paper ever.

*The snowglobe is on a coaster because it leaked in transit. You were very clever to have put it in a ziplock bag. Brains, beauty, and talent. A triple threat!

And since the college secret santa thing was messed up by the person who came up with the idea suddenly buying a gift for someone she wasn't assigned (because she is her "best friend") I'm pleased to be doing it with another group of peoples.

I got a gift today! It was from Pen!

She went all out!

Wow!

Here it all is laid out!

I got some candy in a cup, some marshmallow fluff, some hot cocoa, a laptop w/ a laptop cooler, and my cat!

(actually not those last two, they were just in the photo)

And in the card was written this!

Thank you so so much Rachel, it's been a rough couple of weeks and this has helped tremendously. It will probably be the best thing that will have happened to me this holiday season. You are an amazing person.

So, technically not a secret santa, but I wanted to post that because I love it so much. It's so great.

(also as you can see the handle broke off the cup in transit but it is still 100% useful)

I went to the post office near my work today to mail my gift, but the post office is small and they don't have an electronic sender and the line was really far out the door, so I'm going to the post office near home that DOES have an electronic sender and I'm mailing it tonight/tomorrow.

Edit: I went on my lunch break, which is why I couldn't send it this afternoon.

A penguin mug and a Mario mushroom full of those little origami star things and a robot magnet and a necklace (which I adore) and chocolate covered sunflower seeds and a little sign that says Liz, (and Merry Christmas, but that is not the point. I got Name, in my gift! Wheeee!)

For all the people stressing about their package not arriving, here are some notes from my experiences:

- Sending from Australia to the US takes about 14 days, the closer you get to Christmas, the longer it takes.
- Sending from the US to Australia takes about the same, sometimes a little longer than two weeks, depending on what type of postage you use.
- Sending from Australia to the UK takes a bit over two weeks.
- Sending from the UK to Australia takes a bit over two weeks.

I am really not sure about UK-US postage, but I assume it would be faster that UK-AUS etc.

I am sure all the packages will get there eventually, but the closer you get to Christmas, the worse the postal services get.

And as for things from the US to Norway, it has taken everything from 1 week to 3 months for me, while stuff from Hong Kong usually takes about 9 days, stuff from the UK to Norway takes about 10-14 days... I just got a DVD from the US on Saturday which had an ETA of January 3rd and was ordered a little over a week ago. Soo, basically, it is all a mess and makes no sense. And then you add in the Christmas-factor.
