Large Vocal Ranges Rare?

I don't think of that as being an album that displays much of a large vocal range. Sheff is a great singer to be sure but I don't think his range matches Sumac's.

As far as mainstream pop music vocal ranges, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam has an excellent voice, and actually sounds better live than on record.
I don't think his range is super wide though.

jeff buckley had a four-octave range (which apparently is hereditary, as his dad tim had the same range), and it's blatantly obvious if you listen to the title track on "grace." holy shit, that is an awesome display of vocal (and emotional) power.
