Saw, the game (yes, they're making it)

Jace:
You know they made a video game out of Resivour Dogs.
That is a movie that is about talking, with a total of 20 minutes of action.

I'm going to assume it wasn't very good.

(the game not the movie)

Cyanin:
just one more thing, they're using the unreal gaming engine, as in the same one they use for gears of war, so i don't think theres gonna be too much of a problem graphics-wise. and physics should work well enough, actually, all they'll have to worry about is overkill. :-P

Melodic:
No, actually, they'll have to worry about everything. Seeing as, y'know, the Unreal engine has been used in literally hundreds of game ranging from ugly (Rainbow Six Vegas comes to mind) to slightly less ugly. No AA support still sucks, and the engine definitely doesn't determine how the poly count turns out. Physics beyond ragdolls still aren't a standard part of UE3, either.

UE4, on the other hand, is shaping up nicely. It's much more adaptable than the Source engine (my personal golden standard), but we'll see if it's any better.

KvP:
It's my opinion that a non-modified UE3 looks ass-ugly. Gears of War, shit, have you seen those characters' hands?

(crude, I know, but it's the best I could do with what I had at the moment)

What sort of genetic disorder do these characters suffer from that their fists are as big as their heads? And their calves are thicker than their thighs? And their heels are wider than their knees? I hate the way these models are distorted. It's aesthetically unpleasing even without all the muddy browns and greys that come with uninspired visual design.

If you heavily retool UE3, like Bioware did with Mass Effect, you can get something approaching a good-looking engine. But for the most part I can't really stand UE3.
