I'm having a little trouble coming to grips with it personally, I mean, sure authors I've read have died before, but this is the guy who brought us Sphere, the Andromeda Strain, Jurassic Park, Timeline. Those four listed are on the top of the list of my favorite books of all time, but I've liked every book I've ever read by him, and I've been reading his stuff since i was a kid.
I am genuinely sad. Michael Crichton, you've written excellent books and even directed and helped towards some great movies in your time. You done good.
