Persona 4

<< < (2/5) > >>

Cartilage Head:
I picked it up the day it came out and beat it in ten days. It would be hard to decide whether I enjoyed 3 or 4 more. 4 made a whole lot of little improvements on 3, but also got rid of a couple of things I liked (having to build a whole bunch of different stats as opposed to the three is P3 was a little annoying sometimes, and also having to explore after school instead of at night.) But with minor comlaints aside, everything thing else was as good as I expected. Atlus' translation and choice of voice actors was once again wonderful, even with the tons more jibber-jabber in this one. Another thing that bugged me at first was the difficulty, but that soon balanced itself out and became a pleasant challenge instead of HOLY FUCK WHY CAN'T I BEAT THIS GUY ARRRGGH.

Also one of my favorite things was the super-duper final dungeon ending for the devoted players. It was almost as if the game encouraged the players themselves to unconditionally seek the truth in the story and not be satisfied until they got it. It was crazy, but a great addition. A game that is probably just about as wonderful as 3.

Johnny C:
So I'll be buying this as well as Far Cry 2 later in the week, but then I have to find something like 200 hours to play the two of them. :(

Jackie Blue:
Jesus, this game is addictive.  I played 6 hours straight last night, and I usually only play about 6 hours of video games a WEEK.

I love all the improvements over 3, except HOLY FUCK I WANT TO MURDER TEDDY.  Every single fucking random encounter, he just won't shut up.  God.

I'm doing a better job of turning off my "perfectionist" mode because I am so not the kind of person who has the patience to meticulously create every possible Persona with maximum skills/stats.  I seriously hope I don't have to restart the game on "Beginner" because of this.

Also, it seems a lot harder to get a first strike on enemies now, even if you tiptoe they detect you from a mile away it seems.

Yeah, but they managed to balance that out by you still being able to get thge advantage, by just striking the back of the enemy.

Also:  The rare mobs I've found so far (Only in the Bath house yet), ATTACK YOU.  NO MORE OF THIS GOING BETWEEN YOUR LEGS AND VANISHING BULLSHIT.

Felrender:
Also, I kind of hoped your uncle Japanese Harry Dresden would get kidnapped.  The team needs more manly.
