Songs with memories

fatty:
Everyone has songs that remind them of another time, place or person. Some are really significant events, some are the most trivial things. Either way, post about a song that is significant to you and what they remind you of.

Del Amitri - Roll to me
I sent my friend this song once and we both liked it, sometimes we call each other 'hey pretty baby' from the chorus of the song.

The Lucksmiths - Sunlight in a jar
A forum member sent me this song once, it really made my day. I sent it to a friend of mine the other day to cheer him up.

Ronnie Milsap - Smoky Mountain Rain

Err... I must have been 7 or 8. My family was in the car, and I got my parents to keep rewinding the tape to hear this song over and over again. I realize now that love, the deepest kind of love, is the only thing that can explain it, though I never saw that tape again.

Hmm... There are so many to choose from, its a tad frustrating to try to pick a few as to not waste everyone's time with such a list of memories that aren't very interesting.
I discovered Olivia Tremor Control this year, such an amazing listen can probably attach to any memory.
For some odd reason, I let 'Music From The Unrealized Film Script: Dusk At Cubist Castle' be the soundtrack for my lazy summer, 'Memories Of Jacqueline 1906' definitely being the track that made my summer an enjoyable one.
And for this current bitter cold and reflective winter, I let 'Black Foliage: Animation Music Vol. 1' be my default listen, yet I have no idea why I would assign either of these albums to specific seasons of the year. 'A Sleepy Company' is the song that wakes me up on the coldest of days.

The Eagles - "The Last Resort"

My mom used to have this shitty car.  It was a rolling miracle, most of the time.  I would sit in the back seat, and just sort of observe anything and everything.  As a little kid with ADD, anything in the scenery we were passing would catch my eye as my mind wandered to and fro.  And my mom would play two cassettes, a James Taylor live album, and the Eagles live album.  Those two were all we would listen to, ever, and I must have heard this song a thousand times in my youth because of that.  Never got old, though.  And of all the different car rides we'd take around Lahaina, Maui, it feels like any time I listen to this song again, everything I'd looked at when I'd listened to it back then just sort of comes back to me and papers my mind with a collage of old photographs.

I haven't been to Maui in a long time, but I feel like I have the entire island, and my entire childhood, back when I hear this song.

Air's All I Need reminds me of a sunny fall riding in our old car with my dad as a kid. The world was gold coloured.
