Eight years old? Yikes. I think I was...crap...23 when that came out....
Most songs that really stab me pretty badly are for the most horribly sort of High Fidelity-ish, ex-girlfriend mixtape reasons, it's pretty damn shameful. Aside from those...
I remember driving around Ontario country side getting Christmas trees when I was in High School with my dad and brother while listenting to Badmotorfinger by Soundgarden. We all loved Drawing Flies and now listen to it every Christmas. Totally inappropriate for a Christmas song but so what?

Songs with memories? Pretty much every Blink 182, Korn and Offspring song from the late 90's. Good memories of skating, surfing, crushes and youth and what not. I still find anything those guys do pretty hard to resist for that reason.

"Close to Me" and "Lullaby" by the Cure remind me of being a little boy and seeing my sister's tape of Cure music videos. They were strange and kind of demented. I think there was some kind of squid involved in the "Close to Me" video, but it had a weird face.

Bardo Pond - "Green Man"
1999. Drove up to Michigan to stay with a girl. Instantly fell into mutual love. Second day I was there, she went to work, I settled back into her very comfortable bed and got very high and listened to Lapsed all the way through for the first time. When "Green Man" kicked in, I was in absolute bliss, and still to this day consider it a Perfect Moment.
There is another song connected with the same girl that happened later, but I'm saving it for later in the thread.
NB: Oh and she is the girl who finally convinced me to listen to Neutral Milk Hotel, who I hated, but grew to love after the third or fourth listen.
