Doom metal recommendations
kyleg:
Funny how it's the early versions of most bands that fit the type of music you are looking for.

BNR isn't as complete as, say, metalarchives, but it's a lot easier to discover new bands using it, in my opinion.
Alex C:
I know most of their stuff doesn't fit what we're talking about here due to their obvious stoner rock leanings, plus you probably already have their stuff anyway, but there is a few Kyuss cuts such as Molten Universe, Apothecaries' Weight and their Into the Void cover that bear mentioning.
Also, you guys are damn lucky someone mentioned Sleep already, or else this post would have just been a :-D repeatedly screaming DRAGONAUT in successively larger scrolling fonts.
onewheelwizzard:
Kyuss's cover of Into The Void is my favorite song ever. It is perfect in every way, including a lot of ways that most songs couldn't be perfect in even if they were done perfectly.
Alex C:
You have to appreciate any band that hears Into the Void and thinks it should be meatier.
negative creep:
Listen to Ahab! Seriously. I might or might not upload their album again this weekend. It might or might not be still in the mediaf!re thread.
