Professor Snuggles:
To be fair, ever since I complained that there weren't enough interesting threads and I was only reading the same 3, there have been a ton of new, interesting threads!

Well some of them have been interesting.

That one thread is really boring.

Patrick:
Jens, be realistic here. Facebook isn't separating an entire group of people off from everybody else. The way Facebook's messaging, wall, and chat systems work? One on one communication. It doesn't completely replace the forums like Meebo or Gabbly or other group-oriented shit tends to do.

What Joe was saying about pointless-but-awesome threads is true, and it is also true that their downfall can be DIRECTLY correlated with Gabbly and other such things. If every pointless thread gets instantly shit upon or even nixed just because it's something that could've been posted to the Meebo (and with great results), then people are going to use Meebo as a safeguard against having their threads become unsuccessful. Basically, nobody's going to post new threads because shit is going to get retarded for no good reason.

Sure, for the comparatively-small group of people that use Meebo, it can be a great way of bonding between themselves, and hell, there is the possibility of having awesome discussions. And from what I hear about it, cool shit happens in there. That's great! More power to you. I'm just saying, it is taking over the role of "place to talk about stupid/cool/funny shit" that the forums once embraced as a communal trait, and that if you guys HONESTLY give a shit about the quality of the forums, you'll include everybody in the discussion again, just like back when I first joined.

(Kieffer the only reason that has happened is because a whole fuckload of people complained about how stagnant shit had been)

jhocking:
I disagree about meebo patrick. I see no problem with meebo existing, the only problem is people being overly judgmental here. If we can just get people to stop being so cliquey as paul pointed out, it's all good.

Patrick:
You misunderstand what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that no matter the quality of the content that is missing, there is still shit missing. Everything has potential, but nobody has balls enough to try it, so they hide off in their little corner.

Cartilage Head:
Yeah.
