I've already got the Sonic games, the Mario games, Ristar, and Star Fox, and Gunstar Heroes, the Metroid Series, and the Donkey Kong Country games are on my list of games to get.

Any other recommendations for good SNES, NES, or Genesis/Mega Drive games?

Stick with Final Fantasies 4 and 6.  And 5.  Oh, and Chrono Trigger.  For the JRPGs, that is.  Oh, and there's the Soul Blazer trilogyesque.  Though that's not really RPGish.

I always really enjoyed E.V.O.: The Search for Eden.  It's quirky fun in which you control an animal through the ages, evolve, and eventually marry Gaia.  Or something.  It's just fun.

Flashback: The Quest for Identity is a rather fun platformer.  The backgrounds are hand-drawn and the animation is rotoscoped, making it all ever so artistic/fluid.  It's always held a special place in my heart.

So has the Lost Viking duo.  Three vikings are kidnapped by an evil alien named Tomator on his spaceship.  They have to fight their way through scads of levels, solving puzzles, and such.  You control one at a time.  Olaf is a fat shield dude who can use it as a hang glider.  Balog has a sword and a bow/arrow set.  Eric can run really fast and break down walls.  Each has his purpose in the puzzles and the three have to work together to survive.  It's awesome, the puzzles are tough, and there are two of the games.

Can't go wrong with Zelda, dude.

When you say you have the Mario games does that include Mario Kart? Because the original of that was the best.

I think later installments of Mario Kart have indeed suffered from the addiction of console game designers to the third dimension.

Fun fact:

Kid Icarus 2 and Metroid 2 are on the same engine.

Megaman X, Megaman X2, Megaman X3.  Hell, just get all of the Mega Man games you can get; they're all good.

Super Metroid, if you don't have it already.

All of the Zelda games.

All of the Castlevania games (I like 2 and 3 the most.)

The Actraiser games are fun.

The Contra games.

Master Blaster.

Bubble Bobble.

There were a couple of Micro Machines racing games I was addicted to when I was a kid... NES, I think.

The Jurassic Park games.

Captain Skyhawk.

Marble Madness.

God, there's too many good games on the NES and SNES to list.

Got Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley, Thinking of getting Gumshoe. I've kind of got a thing for all these old Nintendo IP's that've been forgotten: that way, when they come back in the next Smash Bros., I can say I liked them BEFORE they were cool. :-D

Also, Based on some positive reviews and a cheap price on eBay, I bought StarTropics. Am I in for a treat?

Have to agree with you on that one, man.  I'd also recommend the original Bionic Commando from the NES and Alex Kidd in Miracle World from the old Master System.  That game and the paper-rock-scissors stuff was awesome!

I'm guessing that there's like a 95% chance you actually mean Yo! Noid. The graphics and sound were actually pretty decent on that game, for the time. I'm tempted to say it wasn't an utter pile of shit, but the thing was annoying difficult and not much really stood out about it otherwise.

For The SNES:
You're doing good with the Mario and Donkey Kong series' for sure. I'd Also recommend:
Sim City (Simple, Addictive)
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Super Punch-Out (A Classic, heaps of fun)
Final Fight 1-3 (For the days when u just want to beat the hell out of something)
and Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (Port of the 3 NES Games. ((Or just get them for ur NES)).)

Genesis:
Sonic's all i really played on it, except for Columns. Another simple yet addictive, fun time waster.

NES:
Mike Tyson's Punch Out
The Legend of Zelda
The Mega-Man (Rock-Man) Series
Excitebike
Kung-Fucking-Fu!!!!!!
Trojan
and cant go wrong with Tetris.

I trust Coolrom com.  (Im assuming you're doing emulators?) I got most of mine from there.

Got Mike Tyson's Punch-out, Excitebike, Tetris, and I'm definitely looking at the Zeldas.  8-)

And actually, I got this knock-off wunder-system that plays Genesis, NES, and SNES games, as well as a Super Game Boy.

Although, I'm a little worried: anyone know if Earthbound will work on a Yobo FC3plus? Because I don't want to plunk down fifty dollars on a game that doesn't work.

I liked Super Punch Out. So much fun.

Also, the Return of The Jedi SNES game.

Also, I'm not sure how many people know "Harley's Humongous Adventure" but that game is just THE best thing.
