True story.  I just moved for school and haven't got a call back. Applying everywere I can find.  No job kind of sucks right now.

And that's a little bit of an understatement.  I had tortillas today! And I think i"m going to make pasta.  And I bought some good cheese that is delicious.  Also, my roomate made chocolate chip cookies.  That was nice.

Stimulus Payment Info Q & A.

Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?
A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.

Q. Where will the government get this money?
A. From taxpayers.

Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
A. Only a smidgen.

Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ?
A. Shut up.

Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely:

If you spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China.
If you spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs.
If you purchase a computer it will go to India.
If you purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala (unless you buy organic).
If you buy a car it will go to Japan.
If you purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan.

If you pay your credit cards off, it will go to bank management bonuses and they will hide if offshore. Same with stock investment.

Instead, you can keep the money in America by spending it at yard sales, going to a baseball game, or spending it on prostitutes, beer and wine (domestic ONLY), or tattoos.

Hey now the Australians are definately getting this?

Kind of a kick in the balls that you can't rebuild a burnt down home with $950. I dont mean that in a harsh way. Just sayin'

Eris:
The Opposition are still arguing about it, so it's not a certainty that we will be getting it. A lot of people are saying that the money should go towards the victims of the fires, and over $31 million has been donated to the appeal. There is a lot of discussion about whether people should rebuild in those areas or if they should move somewhere less of a risk, what with global warming and all that Jazz, so who knows how that will effect communities. I mean, some people have been living in that area for generations, so it would be hard for them to move, and they may stay there even after the warnings.

But uh, this should probably go into the fires thread, because it's not really that much to do with the government's potential handouts. Again I say, we still don't know if we'll be getting any money; it's still all up in the air.
