Dead Rising 2

<< < (15/17) > >>

Storm Rider:
I finally lost my first survivors earlier: one was connected to a psycho fight that I really didn't want to do, and the other I encountered on the way back to give Katey her Zombrex dose and I just didn't have time to fulfill his stupid sidequest thing. Even though he didn't officially join me, the game still treated him as in my party so he lost health when I left the area and he died before I could get back to him. Whatever, the fact that I went 48 hours without losing anyone on my first run (minus the bonus levels I got from Case Zero of course) means that a 'perfect' run should be more than obtainable in NG+. I haven't even really messed around with the juice combos yet.

And you haven't gotten to the worst psychos yet, although the chef is a pretty big pain in the ass. But you're right, you don't save anyone from the biker psycho so you're safe as far as that goes. There seem to be a lot more in psycho fights in this game in general than in DR1, I literally ran into a fight with a group of 4 psychos while escorting somebody who I had rescued from a psycho fight. Boss fights were always kind of the weakest part of Dead Rising, I'm not sure why they thought that was a good idea. Still enjoying the game a lot though.

Out of curiosity John, did you tame the tiger or just kill it?

KvP:
I ran the fuck out of there with the two survivors I had gotten before the fight, so theoretically I could go back there and tame it... How do you tame it? Do you throw ribs and chicken at it or something?

Storm Rider:
Yeah, you have to throw steaks at it until its health is full. It won't always eat them right away though and you have to dodge both it and the the zombies for a while until it does. It took me a couple of tries, but I did it and it's kind of awesome.

ackblom12:
I gotta say, as much as I think the bitching about having save points was a bunch of whiny ass people in DR1, I do love the checkpoints.

Did a bit more in the game and I'm at lvl 20 right now. At this point I'm pretty much ignoring psychopaths completely unless they are story based and I continue to be impressed with the hilarity of combo weapons. Exploration is quite a bit of fun what with the larger area and I've spent an embarrassing amount of time playing video poker in the casinos. There is something great about you're play occasionally being interrupted by the occasional zombie, whom you casually cleave in twain before conitnuing on with your hand.

Melodic:
I found the game a lot easier than DR1 -- maybe partly because I ended up at level 42 at the end of my first playthrough. Psychos still suck, since the most effective way I've found to deal with them is having half of your inventory filled with OJ and the other half a mix of shotguns and combo tools (in particular, knife gloves, pole weapons, and drill spears are amazingly effective against everyone).
