Tokio Hotel.

I was lurking around on some music forums and some people hatem and some people lovem. What do you thunk? I think they're alright...nothing extremely amazing. I thought the lead singer was beautiful and then my friends told me the reality, and I was slightly embarrassed. Bill can put makeup on better than some of my female classmates (and I want to find out what kinda shit makes his hair stick up like that. I've been always wanting to try out long spiky hair. Not like Bill's style. Yet.), I'll give him that, and he's still pretty to me. But I try to keep his aesthetics and his acoustics in separate categories. Nothing really shines out (I have yet to collect Tokio Hotel's discography) extremely brightly, but they're relatively young, and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I've heard some pretty nasty stuff about them, like how they were literally "created" by the record companies that sponsor them (outfit and all!) , and how none of their songs are truly written by the band members. I also heard that they copied a lot of old bands, or did stuff that older bands did better. I only heard about AFI, HIM, Hong Kong Counterfeit, and Bangkok Impact.

I really wish some of the truly amazing bands (which we have in Germany!) would get the attention Tokio Hotel is recieving.

Also, this is a really shitty band.  My little sister has been trying to learn German in the event that she ever meets a transvestite.  Unfortunately for her, this will probably never happen, so she just says 'schusse' all the time.  But yes, not a single half-decent song in their repertoire, and their existence is a gimmick.

I see no real harm in the music, yeah its manufactured. but its still somewhat fresh. and leaps and bounds above the boy bands of the 90's

they're older (all around 20s). I have never listened to jonas brothers songs. I hear jonas brothers are also pretty bad, but because I've never listen to one of their songs, I cannot be certain.

I think their lyrics are pretty angsty, but I listen in for their energy. Hopefully they'll grow up, or will receive teh philosophical teachings from some philosophical dude, or Marilyn Manson (THAT would be hilarious to watch).

I will take offense, thank you very much.  As my former teacher pointed out, when the most contact you get with a language comes in the form of a genocidal dictator shouting hate speech into a microphone on the History Channel, you don't get the most accurate impression of the language.  Mussolini did not make Italian sound pretty, either.  And the "hacking-up-phlegm" noises are not high German.  High German has "ch" sounds more like French.

Colour Haze are actually more stoner than krautrock, krautrock was some years earlier. But they're a kickass band nonetheless.

I hear Tokio Hotel was known as Devilish before changing their name to Tokio Hotel. Was Devilish writing songs under the influence of the record companies? What I'm trying to say is did Tokio Hotel write anything without the influence of record companies telling them to "write about this, write about this like this, etc." and did they have any kind of singing talent before the world saw Bill on Star Search?

basically, when did they start acting as the record company's bitch as apposed to doing stuff on their own? Was there every such a period where Tokio Hotel/Devilish did not cater to their sponsor's demands/stratagem?
