I was in a post-rock band called Datura over the summer. Things didn't work out but they're still making music! Fun fact.

On the actual topic, I just checked out a few of their songs. They're certainly not good but I wouldn't categorize them anything past bland and unoffensive. If outrage over this stuff's popularity over more deserving music is new to you Dom, I have to say I'm a bit jealous.

Apparently fans of Metallica, Slipknot, Coldplay, Linkin Park, etc... think Tokio Hotel is soulless wanky crap. A little bit of irony there eh? Who doesn't love some good irony. I know I love some good irony.

Personally, I don't hate stuff like Tokio Hotel, I don't like it, but at least it doesn't try and pretend to be anything more than it is.

Linkin Park makes catchy songs. They are also whiny and mass produced but some of their songs are at least interesting for a while.
Metallica's new album is pretty good and they've made good music back in the day something Tokio Hotel has never done.
Slipknot isn't very good, but the masks are cooler than the whole "take me home there's a surprise for you when I take off my pants" look that TH has.
Coldplay....ok yeah Coldplay fans should shut up.
