Drama
« on: 16 Feb 2009, 17:30 »

The story needs more drama.  I mean, it's still good and entertaining, but it just doesn't pull you in and keep you f5'ing for the next comic like it used to.

This comic needs more graphically exaggerated full-frontal male nudity.

Meditation.  I mean, we had the night of sighs - hopefully that was just a practice for a full week of all the characters meditating.

You must watch a lot of daytime soap operas.
~~cuz datz where da drama izz~
But really though too much drama = tiring in any form and
Jeph has the balance right where it is in ~da drama levels.

I don't watch any daytime soap operas or anything like that.  It's just, I've always held this comic in higher esteem than all other webcomics because of it's story, characters and how extremely well-written it is.  With the arcs about Faye's parents and Fay admitting she can't be with Marten and so on, I was all over this site.  And I know I can't be the only one.  Lately though, not so much.

Still, after reading today's comic, ask and you shall receive!

The Faye's backstory arc was actually my least favorite part of the entire comic's storyline.  I mean it's important for the readership to know what happened, but it was a little weird to read and didn't seem to flow very well with the rest of the comic.  Yeah it was dramalicious, but I think perhaps it was *too* much drama for me... or maybe just a little unrealistic for me because it didn't seem like irl someone would just hide the whole thing and then have this huge confession time.

*shrug* just my opinion on that particular bit of drama.

Relationship drama on the other hand.... that's just part of life, and especially when you have a few people with personalities like Dora's, where drama is bound to jump out of corners just because they are prone to relationship paranoia.  And today's comic was kind of inevitable if jeph ever intended to be anything like realistic.  I've been looking forward to this one for a while.
