Ruined Gigs.

Black Flag @ the Milestone. Douchebag club owner oversold the show, then proceeded to CALL the fire marshall to close down his own club. The idea was that BF had only played 3 songs so he could justify stiffing them on the money he'd already collected. The future and ex-Mrs Mike Watt(Kira R) was way more livid than Rollins. He seemed to take it in stride.it's been 25 yrs. I am still pissed.

Presumably you saw it in Perth? Apparently the Laneway Festival in Melbourne was a complete shit-fest this year, too. So much so that the organisers put up a message on the website explaining exactly why everything went wrong: among other things, apparently they hadn't anticipated that some acts on some stages would be wildly more popular than others, and that this would cause severe traffic-flow problems with vast numbers of people trying to get to those stages. The event was so unpopular that it even made the front page of the Age.
The Laneway Festival in 2007 was my worst gig experience, too. Too many people, too small (and smelly) a site, too much booze, too much music all day, every day, without stop, without respite, for ten hours. My poor ears! Though I guess I wouldn't say it was a gig "ruined" seeing as how it went off exactly how the organisers intended it to. It's just that the way they intended it to go off was absolutely horrendous.

This is pretty much the Worst Thing.

This is really weird because before this year's Melbourne Laneway I had always heard that it was a very well-organised, good time of a festival.
Inlander:
It probably was a good time for the people who'd been drinking for ten hours straight and had lost 90% of their spatial awareness.
The rest of us were sober and jammed cheek-by-jowl with half-a-dozen sweaty dudes in a back-alley that smelled like rubbish while every five seconds some drunk dickhead tried to force his way through the log-jam so he could get right up to the edge of the stage to hear the Sleepy Fucking Jackson.
