The extra letter:
Big Day Out 2005. Firstly, the Spiderbait set. It was an awesome set, but a drugfucked asshat came careering through the throng and through some cruel twist of fate decides that the place he wants to be most in the entire world is right in front of me. So he's swaying and waving a lit cigarette of questionable provenance around and howling unintelligible drugfucked sorts of things. By this time more people have turned up to see Spiderbait, so what was originally fairly sparsely populated became fairly packed. The dickhead chose that exact moment to finally lose whatever vestiges of co-ordination he had left and fell backwards, clutching at everyone and anyone around him to steady himself, with the result that said cigarette got dragged well and truly up my arm. I wasn't very impressed.

There were a few other minor drugged-up/drunk asshat encounters that BDO that made me decide that music festivals would be awesome and all if it wasn't for all the bogan dickheads they attracted.

BeoPuppy:
The main reason I don't 'do' festivals is that there are too many free range idiots around.

My girlfriend thought that the Metallica concert she saw in Nijmegen in 2007 was ruined because the band did not play For Whom The Bell Tolls. Now, that's her opinion. However, this was the tour which celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Master Of Puppets album which they played in its entirety. She has weird priorities.

The extra letter:
Free range idiots. I like that. That sums it up far better than I did, I think.

Ballard:
The cool thing about belligerent drunk dudes is that it's perfectly okay to use force to get them to move if they are intent on being dicks. Worst case scenario, I punch a drunk bro in the face and don't really feel guilty.

What's truly a problem is belligerent drunk ladies. You can't reason with them so there's really nothing to do but move back or deal with it.
