--- Quote from: mberan42 on 23 Mar 2009, 10:30 ---[*]The albums with the most nominations will be seeded #1 and be placed in each quadrant counter-clockwise, starting from the upper-left.
[*]Albums will continue to be seeded based on number of votes, moving counter-clockwise to fill in the bracket. In the event of a tie, I'll place them alphabetically.

Shouldn't it be clockwise, so that the 1st and 2nd seed have the top two corners? This way, if the favored album wins every time, the final match up is #1 vs. #2.
--- Quote ---[*]When I get further into the list, there's bound to be a number of albums with 3 or 2 votes each. In including those albums, I was thinking that the number of copies sold would determine that; however, I can't find any website that gives those statistics. (I looked at Wikipedia, All Music and RIAA.com) Any suggestions?

The only place where I can think of to find sales information of that kind is Billboard.com, but to get that level of detail on things not on the current charts, you would need a paid subscription.
--- Quote --- If a band has multiple albums nominated, but one album multiple times, I'll pick that over an album that is nominated the same number of times but no other nominees from that band. Does that make sense?

This seems about as fair as any other tie-breaker would could come up with really. It does reward more prolific bands over bands that had one stand out hit, but I think we can live with this. If something only managed 2 nominations, that's hardly a mandate as one of the great masterpieces of our time. And given the choice, I'd rather see some recognition given to bands that have steadily put out good work. Also, this might counteract some of the affect of people trying to avoid nominating the same band more then once, even though more then one album by the same band might have otherwise made there lists.

Good point on the clockwise; I didn't think about that. I also looked at Billboard, but it didn't give me what I wanted. (Also, I'm assuming it's just an American list. I'd've done world-wide sales if the statistic was there.)
Nominations are now closed.
benji:
So by my count, everything with at least 3 nominations should make it, and there will be 16 albums in the contest that received only 2 nominations.

I missed this by just a few hours? Damn.
