I'm not 100%, but I could swear that during a comment on tattoos he said the birds things was personal. Like as in not wanting to tell every person with access to the internet.

Seriously though, of all Jeph's creations, Yelling Bird is probably the only one I'd really miss not having in my life. I also wouldn't be so sure that Jeph likes birds for some personal reason he'd rather keep secret; it's just as likely that it's a personal preference that he can't even really completely explain. The only time I remember him mentioning birds and tattoos in the same post was when he said that he doesn't worry too much about his tattoos and instead goes with things that make him happy. Sometimes we just like what we like; if you asked me why I like green better than purple I'd be hardpressed to come up with an answer more complicated than "I dunno, fuck you, I thought it was cool."
