He has a comfy voice to listen to, and I guess he makes a lot of sense if you, like I, don't know shit about dimensional theory.

Is there any simple, down-to-earth explanation for why he is wrong?

The guy isn't a scientist and the book/video has only received bad reviews from real scientists. From a hippy dippy nonsense point of view it might be appealing but if you actually want to learn about "dimensions" (he gets accused several times of using that word in the wrong context) or anything to do with physics then it is a pile of rubbish.

Well, how about that. I had no idea. That's a bit disappointing, but I can't really say it bothers me; I find physics interesting but I certainly wouldn't say I'm very passionate/knowledgeable about it. Oh well.
