Do you know someone who "likes something ironically"?
Zingoleb:
I can't think of anything I actually like ironic
There's just terrible music I listen to (Savage Gardens, Madonna, etc.) that I don't let other people know I listen to.
"Hey, was that Like a Virgin?"
"NO WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT I LISTEN TO ROCK"
...touched for the first time...
"GODDAMMIT THIS MUTE BUTTON SUCKS"

It's okay Johnny, he was using that term ironically.

Pretty much this. The faux-ironic "love" of shitty things is one of the great cultural diseases of early 21st-century Western society.

So, for example, I have Neil Young's LP 'Trans' and it's all Canadian-hippie-tries-to-do-Kraftwerk's-'Computer-World' and it's pretty fucking awful. But I keep it and sometimes I put it on and am like "oh shit" and laugh at it. Sometimes when I have friends over, even. Is that liking 'Trans' ironically? What's shitty about doing that? Does there have to be an element of trying to look cool in there?

It's a horrifying cycle of idiocy and ego.
De_El:
I'm with fish across face. I listen to bad music for a laugh and I am unashamed of this. I know that I have lavished praise on bands for being mind-boggling and fantastically bad, and derive enjoyment from the music of such artists. What's the problem?
