The Catcher In The Pie.
« on: 26 May 2009, 17:42 »

Very recently I was assigned a project that involves me making a 10-12 song CD and comparing it to the life and transition of Holden Caulfield. The clear question is what songs, although I have a general direction I'd like to get your views as to what you think fits as the perfect soundtrack for the book.

Genres, Extended Metaphors, Songs, and tips are all welcome.

This is one of the worst books I've ever read.  I know a lot of people love it, but I just do not get it's appeal.  It's awful.  Sorry I couldn't be more help haha.

I could do a dramatic spoken-word interpretation of creed lyrics as a bonus track

I don't like the book either, that shouldn't stop me from doing the assignment though. Thank you for the help, QC.

Nothing wrong with him. He just has a different taste in lit, that's all. I read the book once and I don't find it all THAT great, either. I think there's more to be learned about life from Dune.

Give him My Bloody Valentine's Loveless or Sigur Ros' ( ).  They're both about as intelligible as one another.

"Mistaken for Strangers" by the National would probably be pretty good.
