It's not a stereotype I ever heard of. Maybe they assumed it was a stereotype because it mentioned race?

I don't even remember how many movies I've seen where black women/girls are shown with outrageous hair styles that change every ten seconds, but it's been quite a few. Most of those movies also portray those women as stereotypical ghetto babies.

Wil coming back = yay! But I look at him and wonder what the christ he would look like in real life. There are so many jutting bones and angles. He could cut Penny with that cheekbone.
