I seem to recall that multiple devs from the original SWG build's team that jumped ship a while back are involved with Bioware these days, so it's possible that TOR might have some heavy SWG influence.

I was very much under this impression as well. In fact in a few of the developer videos I thought many people from Lucas Arts stated they learned a lot from Galaxies and wanted to move forward on that. Though I could be completely wrong.
