I wish I had a camera just to take pictures of food with. Yesterday I carmelized a freshly-made blackberry BBQ sauce onto some ribs and served them with roast potatoes, this afternoon I've perfected my bacon & mushroom risotto (TIPS: Reserve the bacon grease to sauté the mushrooms first, and then reserve the subsequent liquids so that the bacon-y flavour lightly permeates the onion & garlic as well as the mushrooms. Then, when making the broth, make sure it's a little diluted so that you get the richness of flavour but not nearly as much of the salt. Finally, instead of something super salty for cheese, try something lighter and creamier, like mozzarella or the wheel of camembert that's sitting in my fridge. My first go at it was wayyyyyy too salty but these all helped), and tonight I'm going to bake a potato, blanche some carrots and then quickly toss them in herbed butter, and then grill up a steak and cover it in the leftover blackberry BBQ sauce.
next week is probably all kraft dinner
