--- Quote from: Lyrical on 02 Aug 2009, 11:19 ---BTW, one of my friends broke up with her boyfriend over something similar - she came home feeling frisky, stripped off her clothes, and sat in his lap while he was playing Rainbow Six.  He said, "Hi honey, can you shift over a bit?  Your tits are blocking the monitor."

--- End quote ---

that's effing priceless. i would probably have done the same thing (the breaking up part, not the rainbow six > sex part.)

A friend of mine is going through a similar situation. She has feelings for one of my other friends, and he shares that sentiment, but he's too blinded by his immaturity and his obsession with video games to care. Honestly, when did that stop being a hobby and start becoming a lifestyle? It perplexes me.

Oh, and he plays different variations of the AVGN theme full blast on his cell in public. I swear, there's no helping the guy.

Darke:
I resent the idea that a guy should be dumped just because he didn't instantly jump on his girlfriend the moment she decided she wanted some. Dude's trying to relax, give him a break.

Agreed, although it may have been an ongoing thing or maybe the straw that broke the camel's back sort of thang.

--- Quote from: Jimor on 02 Aug 2009, 02:12 ---I did some quick back of the envelop calculations, and at the current file size of ~200k, with the 300k or so readers Jeph has, that's 60G per comic of bandwidth, or 1.2T per month JUST for the comic image. I'm sure there's some headroom in the server account, but more than doubling the size of the image file to make it "pure" possibly has some real consequences.

What makes you think it would double it? Just saving the existing comic itself as 24 bits only is a 1.5x increase - and that's ignoring the fact that a lot of areas that are complex dither patterns would be solid colors.
