That's because he was in a respected position, not specifically because he was a samurai.:) There are some martial-arts-specific titles, though, as well as sensei (teacher), listed in the Wiki page I mentioned in my earlier post.
Darke, there's nothing wrong with geeking out as a hobby, but it's pretty clear that Marigold *wants* to socialise, but doesn't feel confident in talking to new people yet. http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1429 She did fine hanging out with Hanners and Angus, and the QC group seems to be pretty good at drawing people out of their shells. As far as the "grooming" goes, I doubt Momo-tan is going to try to turn her into a high fashion model or do anything extreme. She's just reassuring Marten that Marigold won't show up stinky, to avoid another awkward zone like when Hanners returned the anime.
BTW, one of my friends broke up with her boyfriend over something similar - she came home feeling frisky, stripped off her clothes, and sat in his lap while he was playing Rainbow Six. He said, "Hi honey, can you shift over a bit? Your tits are blocking the monitor."

--- Quote ---clearly she needs "help" with that because she'd rather sit on her computer all night than put forth any effort to socialise and enjoy the company of others.

That said I don't spend my Friday nights out, I spend them playing video games or in front of my computer and I'm doing pretty well for myself. I have a nice set of good friends, an incredibly hot and wonderful girlfriend, and a stable living situation. I'm actually pretty good at socializing and I get along with just about everyone I meet.
So no, I don't think there's something wrong with me because my hobbies are different than yours.

Didn't I already answer this? I'm fairly sure I already answered this.

Yeah, you did. I seemed to have missed it.

"Perhaps,'' said Darcy, "I should have judged better, had I sought an introduction, but I am ill qualified to recommend myself to strangers.''
"Shall we ask your cousin the reason of this?'' said Elizabeth, still addressing Colonel Fitzwilliam. "Shall we ask him why a man of sense and education, and who has lived in the world, is ill qualified to recommend himself to strangers?''
"I can answer your question,'' said Fitzwilliam, "without applying to him. It is because he will not give himself the trouble.''
"I certainly have not the talent which some people possess,'' said Darcy, "of conversing easily with those I have never seen before. I cannot catch their tone of conversation, or appear interested in their concerns, as I often see done.''
"My fingers,'' said Elizabeth, "do not move over this instrument in the masterly manner which I see so many women's do. They have not the same force or rapidity, and do not produce the same expression. But then I have always supposed it to be my own fault -- because I would not take the trouble of practising. It is not that I do not believe my fingers as capable as any other woman's of superior execution.''
Darcy smiled, and said, "You are perfectly right. You have employed your time much better. No one admitted to the privilege of hearing you, can think any thing wanting. We neither of us perform to strangers.''

that's effing priceless. i would probably have done the same thing (the breaking up part, not the rainbow six > sex part.)

I realize I'm a little slow off the mark on this one, but I'm having a little math trouble. I'm assuming that Dora's mathematical error was caused by her moving the decimal point one column over on Faye's paycheck. Fair enough, but in my understanding, jobs like Barrista in the US pay weekly, rather than monthly. If you move the decimal point in Faye's wage packet over one column then it means she made $5,600 in a week. Even if we assume a monthly pay period then it still seems too much. Is $560 a week for a Barrista reasonable?
Generally if you're out on a decimal point then it's only a factor of ten because any more shows up too strongly.
Or is Dora paying her hush-money to stop Marten finding out she's sleeping with his mother?
