I deleted my post because I realized how old the thread was, but now that it's bumped anyway...

The point is, either it's creepy, or it's a joke. If it's creepy, then you're saying "i'm allowed to be creepy", and if it's a joke, then you're saying "you're not allowed to make these kinds of jokes, and I will call you creepy when you do even though that's BS". And it's definitely BS when someone's allowed to make a joke but anyone who continues the same joke is banned as being "creepy".

If you want to say "Jokes like this are allowed for some people but not for other people", that's fine, since you run the place and can be as unfair as you want to... but don't pretend that makes it fair, especially when you don't explicitly list who those people are, and don't pretend the ban was for "being creepy" rather than for "making a joke that would be acceptable coming from someone else"

Some people are not permitted to make "really obvious Yelling Bird-esque joke"s, and others are. That's a simple fact, and the only way to change it is to actually change it, not to play word games.

maddness:
I've been on the ustream chat and it seems weird to me that someone would get banned for the incident that the op described. I don't know how often people get banned, but it gets crazy in there.

Looking at the description of the incident objectively, probably what happened was whoever hit the ban button saw "<Useless_Proverb> fapfapfap" and no other context, and assumed the worst. So (assuming my interpretation is correct) in one sense he was just unlucky in that the context wasn't seen. And not looked for very hard either, which was my other point earlier in this thread. End result is still "some people don't get to make those jokes".
