Why 'llo thar, my good man/woman/surgery pending. How art thou pray? We shall be playing a round of Mafia tonight, but we shall do this a wee bit differently. So listen keen, folks.

Roles:
We're going to have 16 players total. 4 Mafia members, 4 Detectives, and 8 commoners, just to make the game last a while.

Mafias
You wicked people work together to kill the detectives and take over the town.

Detectives:
You coppers work together to convince the town who is in the Mafia.

Commoners:
You try not to get killed, and vote for who gets hanged at the gallows at dawn.

Rules:

Each night, the Mafia members rise and discuss amongst themselves who they will whack off.

After the Mafia does their dirty deed, the Detectives rise and search the crime scene, discuss amongst themselves who they think did the killing, and ask the moderator if they are correct. The mod will give a yes/no answer

When morning comes, the news will be given as to who was murdered in the night, and the detectives will try to convince the town as to who did the killing.

After deliberations, two of the townsfolk will be nominated to be hanged. After nominations occur, then the townsfolk will vote on the two, and one will be hung. The one executed will reveal his role.

The game ends when the Mafia has successfully killed all of the detectives (at which point the Mafia wins the game), or all of the Mafia members have been executed (at which point, the town wins).

(I obviously do not know how to work the list function)
Now, anyone who is interested, give their names, and when we have 16 people (negotiable), I'll give everyone their roles, and I'll announce the beginning of the game.

I would question the 'two people are nominated' thing. how is it done? democratically? if so this just seems like a waste of time. having played god to a couple of these games on this forum I can tell you that waiting for people to vote can be painful, so if everyone has to vote twice it just makes it worse. Also you really dont want to draw out the game longer than nessisary because people lose interest and in the end the game dies a slow painful death.

PMs, messenger, you decide amongst yourself. I suggest you guys use Skype/WL Messenger, to streamline things.

Democratically... No. And it'll move a lot faster than it sounds. Basically we have open discussions here for a while, and you choose two people. Then the mod (me) closes discussions and just says (to make things MUCH faster) say who you vote for, and the person with the most votes (it's a public thing, no switching) gets whacked.
