Wolfenstein
Melodic:
One of my best (and first) experiences both with first-person shooters and the Xbox console was in playing the console port of Return To Castle Wolfenstein in its fairly robust co-op mode. Specifically, the second or third level was a series of crypts with zombies popping out of walls and scaring the shit out of you. I can fondly recall using Legacy controls.
Eventually, I discovered that RtCW was originally a PC title, bought it, and played Enemy Territory more than any grown man should admit to. I am overcome for nostalgia with this game, guys. Anyone else give it a play?
Yayniall:
Oh man, I played enemy territory loads.
Hella mortaring biznitches.
Zingoleb:
I remember playing this game when I was about six on my computer. It was very pixelated, I can assure you.
TheFuriousWombat:
lol, not Wolfenstein 3D. The sequel that came out several years ago, Return to Castle Wolfenstein. It was a cool game. Definitely very difficult if I remember correctly, especially the boss battles. There was one particularly awesome level where you had to sneak around this giant chateau and assassinate a bunch of nazi officers. Good times!
Bastardous Bassist:
That was the worst level ever. I hate stealth levels.
The boss battles were pretty easy, actually. You just had to move, because the AI couldn't lead you at all. The hardest parts for me were the rest of it.
I, too, have fond memories of Wolfenstein 3D. I was older than six, though.
I hope to play the new version on Thursday, as soon as I'm done getting drunk after my massive, three day qualifying exam.
