I suck at video games

(1/10) > >>

Bastardous Bassist:
I really do.  Any competitive multiplayer game I play ends with me getting my butt kicked.  I'm really good with tactics, but when it comes time to click on the correct area of the screen to shoot the enemy in the head, I always suck so hard.  The first thing I do when I start a new video game is make sure the difficulty isn't up above "Ultimate Fucking Pussy Mode."  Now, don't get me wrong, I love playing video games.  I just can't do it well.  This is something of which I'm generally ashamed, but then I though, "Maybe I'm not alone in this fact."  Who else loves video games, but kind of sucks at them, and always has?

evilbobthebob:
High five! Me too. I suck at games, or at least the ones 1337 gamers care about. I'm quite good at Guitar Hero/Frets on Fire etc. I've mostly given up on playing games against people. My 14 year old brother beats me regularly on any game we choose. Mostly I let the AI kill me repeatedly instead

I am blessed with great gameing skills. From Rainbow 6 to SWAT 4 to CounterStrike to Dawn of war,i've always been skilled.
Although even then i still get killed alot over a long weekend, bad luck, bad timeing or just being outclassed,it happens all the time out there in the world of gameing.

Cartilage Head:
 Fags.

I like how three of the games you listed are essentially the same genre. I'm very good at games thanks to brute repetition and a familiarity with common video gaming conceits; I'm not a terribly coordinated person in general so I doubt my skills stem from any sort of gift. I'm only so-so at FPS games, but that's mostly because I almost never, ever, ever play them. I remember being ahead of the curve back when the ol' primordial shooters like Unreal and Quake ruled the roost, but I'm way behind the curve these days largely due to indifference. I'm one of those people stuck in the no man's land between "Guys who can occasionally dominate a public TF2 match" and "Guys who perform well consistently in a decent clan match". I've never even actually played Counterstrike, so that should give you an idea of the experience gap we're talking about.
