I suck at video games
Spluff:
I suck at adventure games. I love them, but I am the worst adventure gamer ever. It's somewhat sad.

if you're good at tactics and you want to play online FPS'rs maybe try hardcore search & destroy in Call of Duty 4? I dunno, I'm the guy in CoD4 who gets the 20 kill streaks in domination or standard game modes, but in hardcore search & destroy, most of the time I come out with a roughly even kill/death ratio. that mode how well you do has a lot more to do with how well you know the map and if you can find the other guys without them finding you/outthink them.
I suck at guitar hero. which is annoying because it's like the one game I can play with all of my friends at a party. my disappointment is somewhat offset by my friend's usually terrible choice in music in those games, but still, I can't do more than easy, unless I play bass. also recently I went alllll the way back to beloved Ratchet and Clank : Up Your Arsenal online and it was fucking ridiculous. I remember being boss at it when it first came out, but now I can't dodge shit. that game was so much fun.
WriterofAllWrongs:
I find that I am really terrible at most FPS games unless I sit and obsessively play them for about three or four hours. I don't usually play FPS's, though, so maybe if I played one regularly I wouldn't be so shit at them. I am truly terrible at adventure games though. Every other problem is a guide dang it, and the ones that aren't still take me a good bit of head-scratching to figure out. In fact, the only game I'm any good at The Legend of Zelda series, and basically everybody with thumbs is good at those games.
Oh! I am also good at Bloons!

So, even if I can't shoot straight (amusingly, I'm much better at shooting in real life than in video games...?), I still might do okay since I can usually out-think my opponent?
A Shoggoth on the Roof:
well I can't guarantee that because usually you need to put bullets in them before they die but I can say it's usually much slower paced (unless you've got a really crazy teams or are in a clan. I was playing with a bunch of guys with mics once and the entire game was done in like under a minute of gameplay) anyway if you outthink them well enough you'll have plenty of time to line up a shot. snipers for accuracy or put a scope/sight on an M14, with stopping power on regardless of the weapon, and it should be a one hit kill most of the time. most assault rifles are also a good option, but less accurate. pistols work fine for close range, forget the other guns (except maybe the RPD). c4, claymores, and grenades are an option if you really can't use the guns though.
also you need to know the maps really well. so if you haven't played it before you won't do so well to begin with.
