Greatest Album of the Decade Tournament, ROUND ONE

<< < (15/25) > >>

Bastardous Bassist:
It's at least vaguely acceptable.  If you like really simple, folk-y music, it's probably pretty good (well, someone legitimately voted to have it in the list, at least).

Tom:
It's actually really good for what it is - a great example of the genre whereas Kid A is mostly pseudo-artsy bullshit and a poor example of ambient, rhythm centric electronica. Thankfully, Yorke's The Eraser was a massive step up from it. Still, not album of decade material.

JediBendu:
The Marissa Nadler album is pretty remarkable, honestly, and I'm glad someone nominated since I haven't heard it before. It's just unfortunate that Kid A is basically the only Radiohead album I genuinely enjoy on any level (I guess I'm voting In Rainbows over Kings of Leon though but whatever), I mean if Silkworm makes it to the second round and it goes against Radiohead like it's looking then that is definitely a no-brainer type of match for me. Sigur Ros against Radiohead would be a bit harder.

I was mostly just tortured by the fact that one entire bracket had a bunch of stuff I didn't care about, while others had extremely hard match-ups (Sleater-Kinney versus Future of the Left, Battles versus Mastodon, The Unicorns and Portishead.)

I think because the brackets themselves are seeded as well?

I'm also pretty sure anyone who's concerned probably shouldn't worry too much about Animal Collective taking the whole thing, the other number 1 seeds are really stiff competition. It could very well take its bracket though, but should maybe look out for Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

You and I are gonna fight.

Hat:
yeah it almost sounds like you are trying to describe Amnesiac but maybe you took too much Ketamine instead because that is just not a very good description of Kid A to be honest.

Also it is possible I might actually hate the Eraser more than I hate Hitler but it's hard to tell because The Eraser never really killed 30 million people
