Fucking Carlisle.
But yaaay for Rangers scraping a 2-0 win over Hamilton in extra time even though it looks like another first-team player is now injured. Hopefully Miller's hamstring isn't too bad and he'll be back in time for the game against Hearts. He may have the first touch of a baby elephant but he's what we need in front of goal. Knowing my luck he'll be out against Hearts, we'll start Novo and some bastard will go through him as well.

Never mind, there's an away fixture too. I'm not bothered about the cup competitions. I expect we'll get thumped by Spurs over the weekend. As long as we finish second this year I'm happy. Beating Manchester United at Old Trafford was good enough for me.
Inlander:
I prefer Celtic to Rangers simply because in situations where I'm neutral, I always cheer the team with the better uniform.
The test cricket season's finished here with Australia scoring an utterly predictable 3-0 series whitewash against Pakistan. There was a lot of carry-on about Australia's supposed "great escape" in Sydney when they came back to win after having only scored 127 runs in the first innings - but the media coverage almost universally ignored the fact that Australia only won because Pakistan had a massive choking fit and set an appallingly defensive field at the end of Australia's second innings, which allowed Michael Hussey to score the runs that ended up making the difference. Make no mistake: Australia didn't win that match, Pakistan lost it (a point made fairly emphatically by Michael Slater in an otherwise embarassingly partisan Channel 9 commentary team). Ricky Ponting is now the most succesful captain in Australian history, in terms of number of wins, which of course is impressive especially given that he's had to see the side through a huge transitional phase (losing Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath alone would've crippled most teams) - but it's hard to escape the feeling that under his captaincy the Australian cricket team has become ever less gracious in victory and in defeat, less likeable even than they were before. Sometimes, frankly, it's embarassing to watch them and think that these are the men who are representing Australia to the rest of the cricket-playing world.

I hate to break away from Scottish football but the Winter Olympics are starting soon, so I hope you'll all be watching on February 13th when Canada pound Slovakia (just a guess, but highly likely).
Also if Rob is around anywhere, we'll be playing in Sheffield at some point this year (BUIHA div III nationals, I think, but I can't find anything on the web about it).
