a pack of wolves:
I wouldn't say kitsch. I like kitsch. Worthless is too harsh too, it's not like they didn't have any ideas. Great narration and I liked the religious element but I felt they could have pushed that into more interesting territory. The vortex was going places, the maker bit not so much. I wasn't big on the cinematography either though, I found that shallow. I doubt that was accidental but it didn't go anywhere interesting for me.

I'm not sure I'd call it a failure on their part though. I don't know what they were trying to do, for all I know my reaction was exactly what they were hoping for or they could just not care what the audience thinks.

Fitzcarraldo is banging. I love Herzog's opinion of the jungle during filming.

yellowfoliage:
Son of a fucking bitch. I wish I had me some money. And what's worse, Herzog was at CU with Ebert doing a shot-by-shot analysis of Aguirre about a month ago and I had to work.

Maybe I oughtta just get off my ass and make a movie.
