Also, re: point #2 I think that if you're gonna play an FPS on a console then that is your choice and other people shouldn't be handicapped for it. There are some people who are gonna be shit players despite control schemes, and there are people who are naturally good at using a console controller to play with.

Didn't they say the same thing about Half Life 2?

So console gamers should be forced to play at a competitive disadvantage because they can't afford to buy/maintain a gaming PC? Although I will admit that Borderlands is a special case because there's no real head-to-head multiplayer. It could still create balance problems if the PC guy is hogging all the XP, though.

Possibly have an option when creating a server to decide whether it can be a cross-platform server, and then have a search option that lets you only see non-cross-platform servers?
Gaming computers aren't that expensive anymore, either. At least not ones that will acceptably run new games. Not counting stuff that people can be expected to already have (case, mouse, keyboard, hard drive, monitor), you could put together a decent rig for less than $300, one that would last you a few years, and your games wouldn't cost $60 when new, which adds up quickly.

P.S.: Dimmukane and SWM, I didn't have you on my friends list yet, so I added you after you posted your tags in this thread. If you got a friend request sometime yesterday and didn't know who it was from, it's probably me.
