Heh, yeah, that's basically the last resort maneuver for everything in Diablo 2. Still, many a new player has gone in there not knowing what to expect and ending up being ambushed by just how damn much he hurts. If in your ignorance you had a Sorceress with virtually no stam and a staff instead of a shield, he was completely capable of reaming you before the screen faded in on the zone in transition.

I was nearly done with the 7th dungeon when my game file got corrupted. I just didn't want to put in all the hours again.

Yeah quitting after a shitty save or unexpected death that result in paying stuff I just did over again always makes me stop for wa while, sometimes I never get back again.

I just bought the first Oddworld games; Abe's oddysee Abe's Exoddus. It has save points, and the placement of some is absolutely killing me. After a really hard jumping/running puzzle, you still have to go through some medicore stuff before you get to save again. If you do brilliant at the hard stuff and then die before you get to save.... GAH!
Gotta finish it though, great games.
