I can empathize...Connie Willis is amazing.  If only she'd write more novels, not those unsatisfactory novelle (cue discussion of s-less plurals).

being a webcomic artist, no matter how famous, usually doesnt draw papparazzi. at most, you'll get a few interviews.

I don't think being a webcomic artist counts as being "famous".
