This is probably my problem. I really don't care for psychedelic music. Prog's not really my bag either, with a few exceptions (Magma, motherfuckers!). I'm a punk at heart and I have little time for noodling, it's pretty telling that the unashamedly straight ahead hardcore battery of Vad Vet Vi Om Kriget? made my best of the decade list. So although it's nice that they're heading off that ridiculously well-beaten path, the influences they're grabbing are things that leave me a little cold.
