--- Quote from: Zingoleb on 10 Dec 2009, 19:32 ---I have to get a digital copy of Aqualung now. I need to get most of Tull's stuff on my computer, I have like 15 vinyl records but nothing on this computer. Oh man, I know what to raid next time I'm at a loss for what ot download next.

What would be a good CCR song? I've never met anyone that doesn't like Creedence.

I think Minstrel in the Gallery is better than Aqualung.

Well I think my balls look better than your face so I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree

Truuuuthfully (and more seriously), I haven't listened to many Jethro Tull albums as in depth as I would have liked. Thick as a Brick is a pretty notable exception, though.

you're so cool but you know that

i didn't try very hard to appease the people who enjoy different genres but i legitimately have never met anyone in my life who didn't like this record so now i'm posting just out of curiosity to see who ends up vetoing this and why

(i promise i won't find where you live and kill you)

(maybe)

I feel like if we're actually serious about getting a result out of this thread then maybe we need to be more methodical about it. So far everyone's posting songs they like and assuming everyone else is going to like them, but frankly we're never going to get anywhere doing that because there are just too many songs. So maybe everyone who's participating in this thread should give some idea as to what they like in a piece of music, so that we know what to look for?

Here's me: I like a very large range of music, but I really don't like anything much by way of metal, post-Sabbath. I like something where I can clearly hear all the different instruments, and the interplay between them. I'm not overly keen on most dancefloor-oriented electronic music because I find the repetitiveness of it boring and pointless. If something has Real Instruments actually being played by people it's going to increase my likelihood of enjoying it exponentially. I don't care if a piece of music doesn't have a vocal component. I like fast music and slow music pretty much equally. If the piece of music does have vocals, the lyrics have to be at least as good or as interesting as the music. As has been pointed out to me elsewhere, I tend to prefer music that was made by black people who are now dead.

Speaking of which: here's "Zombie" by Fela Kuti. You probably won't listen to it because it's an edited version and it still goes for ten minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBgewcFh-cg

Damnable Fiend:
I have a weird relationship with Sloan's music.  I started off disliking them automatically because my brother, who is an ass with otherwise terrible taste in music, used to like them a few years back.

I can't honestly say that I dislike this song though, now that I actually listen to it with an open mind.
