Oh.  I didn't know we were counting that.  Oopsie.

I know..I know. :(

onewheelwizzard:
The first contribution I can think to make on this (totally confounding) thread is Dave Brubeck - Take Five because it's probably one of the most easily groove-to-able songs I've ever heard and can be played at literally any gathering of people and be at least tolerated until the drum solo.  It seems like "classic" is slang on this forum for "not actually cool in any way" but come on, guys.

(I admit that I'm actually just kinda confused by RallyMonkey vetoing Stevie Wonder and Funkadelic, and Jimmy vetoing Clutch, Otis Redding, and Fela Kuti.)

OK, here are some more options that I think are reasonable:
The Budos Band - TIBWF
DJ Frane - I Am Dreaming
The Flaming Lips - Do You Realize???
Earth, Wind, and Fire - September
Gary Higgins - It Didn't Take Too Long
Soulsavers - Revival
Masters of Reality - Doraldina's Prophecies
Pretty Lights - The Time Has Come

For fuck's sake veto songs one at a time, guys.  It implies that you have actually listened to them.  Explaining yourself is recommended.

I just want to remind everyone that "most universally appealing" is not actually synonymous with "best."  It just means "the most people will be OK with it if their friend puts this on when they're hanging out."  What I'm getting out of this thread is that a few of you would be absolute hell to hang out with because I'd never get to play any music without pissing you off.

I would have gone with Rays On Pinion though the vocals would likely pull the same veto. Oddly enough when I opened youtube it recommended another Baroness song - Steel That Sleeps The Eye. All around good band thanks for mentioning.

So you actually don't like it, or you think it's inferior to some of his other stuff? Because nobody is going to agree on the best, so I picked something that seemed like it would keep people's attention decently, but wouldn't annoy anyone, which by necessity usually ends up meaning it isn't the best, just okay.

For what it's worth, though, I like C jam blues better than either of the ones you linked. Not vetoing them, just saying.
