Given that everyone they know, almost literally, lives in that building, it's Dora that's being stupid.
(Plus, I'm pretty sure they'd save more money Marten's way round.)

Ok, I get that Dora is wanting Marten more to herself now, but that is some seriously selfish shit on her part. There is seriously no reason why she can't move in with him.

I dunno, I took it as:
Dora has latent jealous/insecure feelings toward Faye for being whom Marten was originally interested in, and she's trying to solve the problem by having him move away from Faye and in with her.
Probably overanalyzing but it did strike me as a very insecure-female thing to do.
