[...]  that Catholic girl was a poor choice.

I thought catholic girls were hotttt?

Do none of my ideas about the world turn out to be true?

In other news: friend bought a house, I fixed my garden, my girlfriend is upset about her teachers (which are, frankly, terrible), I'm at work (which is, frankly, terrible) and famous grouse is not that good a scotch at all.

No no, catholic SCHOOL girls are hot, it's because they're supposed to be rebels against the system or something. I was one, feel free to base your judgements on that.

All the catholic girls I have dated were slllluuuuuttttttttssssssss. Bang-me-in-the-front-yard-during-a-party sluts.

I think this was mostly because I am from a very small town.

NO OFFENSE TO ANY CATHOLIC GIRLS WHO MAY POST HERE.

I received confirmation for my Canadian working visa today, and the phone call from the phone company that I can come in and pick up my new iPhone! Stress level reduced approximately 80%, right there.

I have an appointment on the 15th at 3:15 to go to 215 Washington St.

Maybe I should listen to Mechanical Animals on the way there.

My housemates and I are sitting in the loungeroom in our Jim jams at 4:30am because the police chased someone onto our roof. Oh, the wonders of terrace living! The fun and adventure of Sydney city life! The funny thing is that this is the most time we've all spent in one room for weeks. Aaaargh I just want to go back to sleep.

Is it Uisge Beatha? Because it should be Uisge Beatha/

It is not, for the sole reason that I don't think Uisge Beatha counts as a gig venue? The place I'm talking about is Stereo, which has the best food + the best bands + (some) comfy couches + nice waitresses/waiters.

My boyfriend wants me to go skydiving with him and some coworkers in two-and-a-half weeks.  Part of me thinks it will be awesome.  Part of me is sure that as soon as it comes time to jump, I'm going to be blubbering to the instructor and crying and sobbing and refusing to leave the plane.

Have any of you done it?  Is it as fun as it looks?  As terrifying as it sounds?

(But what if the parachute fails?  What if I freak the fuck out?  What if my boyfriend's coworkers all think I'm a pansy?  What if I throw up?  What if my shoes fall off?  Accccck!)

Do it!

Today was an awesome day! I bought a new graphics card so now my computer actually works properly, I bought a load of nice stuff for the flat (and we cleaned everything up today, I stink of bleach), and I spent most of the afternoon sitting outside in the sun. Woo!

So, who has a sinus pressure headache and sore throat?
Who is at work instead of being home in bed?
Who had a mental break down last night because she's now spent two nights completely failing at anything remotely resembling something appropriate for this assignment?
Who thinks that maybe she should have learnt from this time last year with the working and the uni-ing at this level and perhaps maybe shouldn't be taking as many classes as she is?
Who thinks that maybe she should harden the fuck up because it can't be this hard and she's just copping out and being a sook?
Who ended up giving up, crying, and going to bed last night feeling completely pathetic and wondering why the hell I'm studying graphic design when I've never had an ounce of artistic talent in the 20.5 years I've been living on this planet?

The answer to all of these questions is: ME!

I watched Crazy Heart Sunday night and really liked it. It was a solid movie, Jeff Bridges was like the best he's been in it, and Maggie Gyllenhaal was excellent as ever as well.
It kind of hit home a little hard because my dad is/was an alcoholic who used to be great at guitar and also has a beard and long hair and is large and overweight a bit. The scene where bridges is throwing up into the toilet in just his tighty-whiteys, that, that hit me the hardest because that is something
well never mind what that is
Crazy Heart is a good movie and I really liked the music. Jeff Bridges ain't so good at playing it live but for the movie, when he was coached and they took the best take, The Weary Kind is a great song.

I have been drinking again, and went out with friends tonight. Smoked a bacon explosion again, it impressed as per usual. Goddamn that is a good food.

Discovered that the upstairs of one of the ale houses here is a hipster bar! They were listening to the Shins circa three years ago! I mean, that is not cutting edge, but in this backwards fucking island where "If You Steal My Sunshine" is acceptable radiofare in the winter, this was amazing.
Also I had some chatting with a friend who I have never gotten that close with, which was nice. Jake is a fairly reserved person, and it is hard to get into a good conversation with him but when you finally get him going he is great and full of ideas and opinions.
I fill the air a bit too much with fluff and shit, but hopefully we will hang out more.

These people.

I just got back from London! Well actually I got back about two hours ago, but never mind that. It was very odd, I didn't decide to go until late two days ago and then I went, and I didn't spend the whole time wishing I hadn't! I spent some of it wishing that, but still it is an improvement as I'm usually appalling at dealing with last-minute plans.

Things that were cool were that I enjoyed walking round on my own and navigating the Tube for the first time alone, and not having the slightest difficulty, before I met up with my friend; we went dress shopping and had lots of fun digging through vintage stores and trying on dresses but didn't find anything; the weather was awesome and sunny; I took a packed lunch which was delicious. Mm.

The downsides were that my yoghurt went off in the heat (ah well), and my friend got scouted for Abercrombie and Fitch but the scouts utterly blanked me, which made me feel fat and ugly and jealous as hell. We went to the interview and I had to sit outside for an hour while a room full of attractive people filled out forms and had their photos taken. Bit unpleasant, especially since she has no intention of taking the job since she is getting her head shaved next week.

Then we went to this odd thing in the evening which she's been going to all weekend - it's called the Landmark Education Forum and it's about learning to live your life differently or something. It was the last night and you could take guests, so I went and it was interesting but also a bit odd. They were trying fairly hard to get the guests to sign up to take the course but it's expensive and seems a bit weird to me - it does make sense psychologically etc I guess. Anyway I might do it, or I might stay comfortable in my not-quite-optimum state of being.

I spent the night being the guest of a guest, because my friend was staying with a family I had never met (and still have not really met - I said hello to the father as he walked past in the morning and spoke briefly to the daughter). Weird, but also nice not to get a train back in the middle of the night.

Mountain Goats were Fucking Awesome tonight. They played for almost two hours. They had a drummer. On some songs John played keys. Fucking keys. He rocked the fuck out of them. They played two encores. Two genuine encores with people refusing to stop applauding and stop cheering and stop pleading for more until the band came out and played more. The last song they played was "Best Ever Death Metal Band in Denton". There was no Insane Clown Poesy.

Dear blag,

I don't have internet anymore, and I think I'm actually gonna quit the forums (and the internet altogether) until I can stop being crazy.

I guess if anybody feels like talking, Shane or Edward (Zingoleb) have my phone number and I really don't give a shit who calls or when. If I don't answer I'm at work.

If I had insurance I'd go get real professional help but I don't so I won't because I can't.

Bye.

Attack Attack! I guess, basically, I linked him the music video for that song where they do their crabbing thing because we were talking about metal/electro music, and his reaction was, "oh man, i love this band". And I know him, and I know he meant it.

Had a scare with my laptop where it would not boot, even into safe mode. Googled the error message that briefly popped up on the BSOD and the advice was that it was probably bad RAM. Swapped around the 2 RAM sticks and found out that one was dead, and one was good. So now I'm back in business, though the laptop is SLOW with only 1G of memory. Did a complete backup just in case, then ordered replacement RAM. Unfortunately, 2G is the limit on this machine, because I really wanted to upgrade with all the video work I do on it.

In school news, I'll be directing a live television program for class next Friday. It's a news magazine type show that goes out on the local educational cable channel. I haven't started panicking quite yet.  :-o

Happy Birthday, Andy!  :-D

Take care of yourself, Patrick, hope it all works out for you.

Blog thread,
My last three meals have been bacon explosion, bacon macaroni and cheese, and now I am eating this crazy poutine with beef and sausage. Also the bacon explosion and the bacon macaroni and cheese had a side of fries both. Also the roux for the gravy was made with bacon fat. Also I had a bowl of ice cream and some chocolate.
I am going to have to eat nothing but raw vegetables for the rest of the week.

I've heard this Bieber name bandied about a lot lately. Is he someone I should know about?

My roommate told me last night that The Bieber was 16. Wikipedia agrees with him but there is no fucking way, right?

Also he did a song with Ludacris.

That's... that's... I can't find a word to describe the situation of The Bieber doing a song with Ludacris!
